Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fan Edit Makes Game a Horror Movie

Given the popularity of Animal Crossings: New Horizons, it’s unsurprising that the game is being used not only for the purposes of visiting loved ones but also for creativity.

YouTube user Evil Imp has taken some of the more gothic moments of the game and turned them into a trailer for an Animal Crossing horror movie. The results are actually quite creepy.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forcing a significant shift in how we conduct ourselves in the social world, it has become virtually impossible to hang out with friends in traditional ways. It’s for this reason that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become such a hot commodity. The game allows friends to visit with one another in a well-realized magical world that offers a nice break from the stress of living during a pandemic.

For those not familiar with the game, play involves collecting items and animals, customizing your own island, and interacting with players and non-player characters who visit your island. The customization and decoration options are fairly diverse, allowing someone like Evil Imp to take the usually sunny locale and turn it into a truly creepy setting.
