Bill & Ted Star Buys People Groceries Amid COVID-19 Shutdown

Actor/writer/director Alex Winter is taking a page from one of his most beloved characters’ books during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as the Bill and Ted Face the Music actor has opened his direct messages on Twitter, offering to help those in need with groceries.

“If you’re in dire need of groceries, I opened my DM’s for a little while, so DM me a Venmo account and I’ll help who I can,” Winter wrote.

With countless people having either been furloughed or let go entirely due to the pandemic, Winter’s message comes at a time where people need help more now than ever. Winter is one of several members of the entertainment industry who has taken efforts to help those in need; others include Ryan Reynolds, who — with his wife Blake Lively — has helped donate $1 million to help food banks in need.

Directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face The Music stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Anthony Carrigan, Kid Cudi, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving. The film arrives in theaters on Aug. 21.
