Birds of Prey initially did poorly at the box office, which some blamed on the film’s long title and its R-rating. At one point, the film’s name was changed to Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey in some theater chains, seemingly in order to combat the movie’s poor box office performance.

In Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn was portrayed by Margot Robbie, who had previously played the character in 2016’s Suicide Squad. Robbie is set to reprise her role as Harley in James Gunn’s upcoming film, The Suicide Squad.

Directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hudson, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco and Ewan McGregor. The film is now available on video-on-demand.
