Highly-detailed collectible manufacturer Hot Toys teased a new wave of figures based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ final season. Now, the Hong Kong-based company has unveiled the first product in this new line: a Season 7-inspired figure of everyone’s favorite Clone trooper, Captain Rex.
The action figure features Rex as he appears in the final season of The Clone Wars, with the 332nd Company armor that shows his allegiance to Ahsoka Tano. The figure comes with the character’s signature weapons and various interchangeable accessories. What’s more, the collectible does not feature the animated head of Rex as it appears in the animated series, but the likeness of actor Temuera Morrison, who played the Clone troopers in the prequel films and was recently confirmed to appear in the second season of The Mandalorian.
The final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, “Victory and Death” was released on May the Fourth. The series’ concluding arc saw Rex and Ahsoka team up to save themselves from the Clone troopers after Palpatine executed Order 66. While Rex was also programmed to turn on the Jedi like his fellow Clone troopers, Ahsoka was able to remove the chip in his head that would have forced him to comply with the Emperor’s commands.
The Captain Rex Hot Toys figure does not have a specific release date yet. For the time being, it’s slated to arrive sometime in the second or third quarter of 2021.
Streaming on Disney+, the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars stars Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex and the clone troopers, James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan and Sam Witwer as Maul. The series finale is available now.
