After months without an update, Disney has confirmed that the variety series Muppets Now will premiere on Disney+ this summer.

Details are scarce, but there has been speculation that the series will follow in the footsteps of predecessor shows Muppets Tonight and The Muppet Show with various segments and sketches throughout each episode, including a game show, a cooking show and a talk show. The talk show may feature a certain Muppet’s girlfriend at the forefront similar to “Up Late with Miss Piggy” from 2015’s The Muppets.

The series was announced at the 2019 D23 Expo as part of the slate of original content meant for Disney+. Another Muppet-centric series Muppets Live Another Day was canceled after receiving a pilot order, which was set to be written and produced by Josh Gad.
