Disney is to begin selling reusable masks featuring beloved Star Wars and Pixar characters, including Baby Yoda from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
With the CDC recommending the use of face masks to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19), and many stores requiring them for entry, Disney has jumped aboard the production train. Starting around the end of June, Disney will be selling sets of four face masks.
The masks will be available in sizes small, medium and large. There’s a Star Wars set, a Pixar set, a Mickey and Minnie set, a Marvel set, a Disney Princesses set and a Disney faces set. Disney is donating profits up to $1 million from the sales of these masks to MedShare. Additionally, they are donating 1 million of the masks themselves to the organization to be distributed to underserved children around the U.S.
MedShare is a non-profit organization that salvages surplus medical supplies from U.S. manufacturing companies and hospitals and distributes them to hospitals in developing nations.
Disney has also provided instructions on how to properly put on and remove the masks. They also provide care instructions. The masks comply with the FDA’s qualifications for non-surgical, non-industrial face masks.
The Disney masks are available for pre-order now through the Disney Store. They are expected to ship on June 29.
The Disney Store is adding reusable masks featuring beloved characters from classic Disney films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and more.
