Extraction is fast becoming one of the biggest films on Netflix, and star Chris Hemsworth wanted to give thanks to the audience.
The actor posted a video on Instagram, where he discussed the film’s success and thanked the fans for their support. “You’ve made it the number one film on the planet right now,” Hemsworth said in the video. “Looks like it’s going to be Netflix’s biggest feature film of all time, which is absolutely mindblowing!”
Hemsworth went on to say that there had been talks about potential sequels and prequels. “All I can say is, who knows? But with this kind of support, it’s something I’d be pretty stoked to jump back into.” Hemsworth also extended thanks on behalf of Netflix, director Sam Hargrave and producers Joe and Anthony Russo.
Based on the Oni Press graphic novel Ciudad by Andre Parks, the Russo brothers, Fernando Leon Gonzalez and Eric Skillman, Extraction focuses on mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) as he fights to rescue Ovi (Rudhraskh Jaiswal), the son of a drug lord, from a rival criminal.
Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi, Derek Luke, Marc Donato and David Harbour. It is currently available on Netflix.
