Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard is currently missing after he was pulled down into the ocean during a Sunday beach swim.
According to TMZ, Gaspard was enjoying a beach outing with his 10-year-old son and wife. Father and son were among a group of swimmers on Venice Beach that were pulled under by a strong rip current. Lifeguards were dispatched to rescue the swimmers, with Gaspard instructing them to save his son first. Helicopters were later used to provide an aerial viewpoint for the search.
Gaspard was one half of the WWE tag team called Cryme Tyme with his partner JTG. Cryme Tyme competed in the WWE from 2006 to 2007, with the duo returning from 2008 to 2010. The Cryme Tyme gimmick of two street-wise wrestlers robbing and stealing from their opponents became an instant hit with fans, with the superstars working a program with John Cena during their second run with the company.
Following his departure from WWE, Gaspard pursued acting with roles in The Game, Think Like a Man Too and From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. In 2016 he famously stopped an armed robber at a Florida convenience store. Gaspard reportedly took the suspect to the ground and held him down until police arrived on the scene.
