DC Publisher and renowned artist Jim Lee has added new original sketches to his ongoing eBay charity auctions.
Lee has been auctioning off original sketches to help benefit comic book stores that are struggling due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. He recently added two new sketches to his auction: Azrael and the Batman Who Laughs, which you can check out below.
The Batman Who Laughs is the evil version of Batman from an alternative universe. Azrael is an assassin who was popular in the 90s Batman storyline Knightfall, where he took on the role of Batman while Bruce Wayne was healing from a back injury inflicted on him by Bane.
The comic book industry has suffered a major blow from the COVID-19 pandemic. Comic book distributor Diamond halted production and shipping of physical copies to help prevent the further spread of the disease, which has hurt the comic book shops that sell them.
All the proceeds from Lee’s drawings will go to comic book stores to help them through the pandemic. So far, he has auctioned off a few other drawings, helping raise thousands of dollars for struggling comic book stores.
Both auctions for the sketches will end later today on Monday, April 6. They are both currently sitting at over $5,500 at the time of writing. If you would like to bid on any of Lee’s sketches, they are being auctioned off on eBay by chunkymonkey0000.
