Kung Fu: The CW Reboot Debuts First Poster | CBR

The CW has released a poster for its upcoming reboot of Kung FuThe vibrant image showcases star Olivia Liang (Legacies) striking a fighting pose, ready to combat whatever comes her way.

The original Kung Fu series starred the late David Carradine as a monk who traveled the world looking for his brother. As befitting the title, he used martial arts skills to defend himself and others. The CW’s version of the show is developed by Christina M. Kim, who produces the show along with CW stalwarts Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter.

The new show, which recently received a series pickup, will focus on a young Chinese-American woman, Nicky Chen (Liang). Struggling with her place in the world, Nicky drops out of college and travels to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns home, she finds her hometown overrun with crime and corruption. Using her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice, Nicky searches for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.

Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Jon Prasida, Shannon Dang, and Eddie Liu round out the main cast. The Kung Fu reboot will premiere sometime in 2021, alongside new shows like Walker and Superman and Lois.
