Principal photography on the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe had begun this past February in Australia, with the film then on track for a February 2021 release. Filming was temporarily suspended last month due to the global health crisis, however, which led to Marvel Studios later delaying the film’s wide release by three months.

The upcoming film will introduce the eponymous martial arts superhero to the MCU as he battles the true Mandarin, portrayed by Tony Leung. The film was officially announced this past July at Comic-Con International in San Diego, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiling the main cast and original release date.
