My Hero Academia: 5 Quirks Better Than One For All (& 5 That Are Worse)

One For All is one of the strongest known Quirks to exist in the world of My Hero Academia. It was first wielded by All For One’s brother who was thought to be quirkless. Over the years, this Quirk is known to have had many wielders, with Izuku Midoriya being the 9th and the current one to use its power.

It goes without saying that One For All is one of the most powerful Quirks in the series, surpassed by only a handful. Here are 5 Quirks better than One For All and 5 that are worse.

10 Better: Weather Manipulation

Weather Manipulation is one of the many Quirks of Nine, the main antagonist of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. Being a master villain, it’s not a surprise to see that Nine has powers that surpass those of One For All.

As the name suggests, this Quirk lets him manipulate the weather freely, create large thunderstorms, rage storms and what not. Its powers are so tremendous that even Nine couldn’t properly control it.

9 Worse: Hardening

Hardening is the Quirk of Eijiro Kirishima, from U.A’s Class 1-A. This Quirk allows him to harden his body to according to his will, however, there is a limit to how far he can push it.

With training, this ability seems to get stronger, as seen when Kirishima awakened the ability known as Unbreakable through it. While strong, this Quirk isn’t really worthy of being compared to One For All.

8 Better: All For One

All For One is the Quirk ability of All For One, the greatest known villain in the entire My Hero Academia story. This Quirk grants him the power to steal anyone’s Quirk, stockpile them, and even distribute them among others freely.

All For One’s power is the most dangerous known ability in the world of My Hero Academia. Even someone as strong as All Might needed to push beyond his 100% to actually defeat him, which just shows how threatening this power is.

7 Worse: Erasure

Wielded by none other than Eraser Head, Erasure is quite a powerful Quirk that lets him nullify the powers of all the other Quirks when eye contact is made with their user.

While this Quirk appears to be very powerful, it is very restricted and hard to use properly. Even the slightest of disturbances will disrupt the Quirk nullification, and render the user open to a counterattack.

6 Better: Permeation

Permeation is the Quirk of Mirio, also known as Lemillion. This Quirk grants him the ability to phase through objects at will. Although it has many disadvantages and is one of the hardest Quirks to master, once the user does so, they become nigh invincible.

With its powers, Mirio was so powerful that he was considered to be the man closest to All Might even among the Pro Heroes, despite being a 3rd year U.A student.

5 Worse: Pop Off

Possessed by none other than Mineta of Class 1-A, Pop Off allows him to create sticky hair balls and detach them from his scalp. The balls can be used to stop the movements of the target, although they’re rarely effective, if ever.

It goes without saying that Pop Off is one of the worst Quirks in My Hero Academia and it certainly isn’t comparable to One For All by any means.

4 Better: Half-Cold Half-Hot

Belonging to Shoto Todoroki, Half-Cold Half-Hot is one of the most overpowered Quirks in the world of My Hero Academia. It allows Shoto to control both ice and fire powers at will.

According to Endeavor, this Quirk has the power to surpass All Might, meaning it has granted Shoto the potential to surpass the greatest Hero of all time. Without a doubt, Half-Cold Half-Hot can surpass One For All.

3 Worse: Lizard Tail Splitter

Setsuna Tokage is the wielder of Lizard Tail Splitter. As the name suggests, this Quirk allows her to split her parts into individual parts and use them to attack her enemies.

According to Tokage, the powers of this Quirk were enough to defeat Bakugo Katsuki in battle. However, she was proven wrong when Bakugo practically defeated her within mere seconds. This Quirk is, undoubtedly, worse than One For All.

2 Better: Explosion

Possessed by Bakugo Katsuki, Explosion is one of the strongest known Quirks in the series so far. It allows Bakugo to release nitroglycerin from the sweat glands in his palms and ignite it to create massive explosions.

Bakugo has used its powers to keep up with Izuku Midoriya without any trouble, meaning this Quirk is worthy of rivaling One For All. Furthermore, where Midoriya uses multiple Quirks to grow stronger, Bakugo keeps up with just one Quirk, showcasing the superiority of his ability.

1 Worse: Hellflame

Hellflame is wielded by the current Number One Hero, Endeavor. This Quirk grants him the power to produce intense flames capable of incinerating anything on contact.

Although it’s very powerful, it also harms Endeavor’s body when overused and makes him weaker. When mastered, One For All doesn’t have such weaknesses, meaning it’s much better.
