Naughty Dog Issues Statement on The Last of Us II Leak | CBR

Following major spoilers being leaked for the highly anticipated — and delayed — The Last of Us II — Naughty Dog has issued an official statement.

“We know the last few days have been incredibly difficult for you,” the developer wrote. “We fell the same. It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development. Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others.”

The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon,” the statement continues. “No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it.”

This statement comes after leaks on YouTube surfaced from an alleged disgruntled employee. While Sony is attempting to remove the leaked footage, it has been reappearing online and is available through social media and other means.

Prior to the game’s delay, Naughty Dog had reportedly been engaging in the controversial practice of “crunch” for months and faced much criticism about as a result of those accusations.

The Last of Us Part II will release on PlayStation 4 on May 29.
