Researchers have concluded which country has the best video game players.
The team at Kwalee looked at the number of game achievements unlocked per person and released rankings of which country had the highest average video game performance. The results showed a top 10 dominated by Europe, while some notable countries were left out of the top spots. So, who took home the crown?
That honor went to Finland. Finland is a large producer of video games and the gaming industry in Scandinavia is certainly booming, producing billions of Euros in revenue each year. Sweden, Finlands’ neighbor, also made it to the top three, only to be nudged out by Canada for second place. The top 20 rankings can be found below:

The study also looked at specific genres and games. The United States is ranked #1 in shooting games and also Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Madden NFL, Crazy Taxi and the WWE 2K games. Japan ranks #1 in fighting games and is the best at Animal Crossing and Final Fantasy. Norway holds the top spot for sports games, while Scotland is the most skilled at racing games. Meanwhile, Ireland is ranked #1 in Super Mario Bros., and Poland is the best at Warcraft.
