PREVIEW: Tynion IV & Dialynas' Wynd #1 Reveals a Dark & Deadly Secret

Following an initial reveal in January, BOOM! Studios surprised readers on Monday with a major announcement regarding its upcoming YA fantasy series, Wynd, by writer James Tynion IV, artist Michael Dialynas and letterer Aditya Bidikar. Wynd was originally slated to be a three-part graphic novel series set to launch in November; however, the publisher has instead opted to release the book as a limited series, beginning in June.

Each issue of Wynd will be nearly twice as long as a standard single-issue comic, with 40 pages of story per release. The book follows the eponymous Wynd, a young boy from Pipetown who must keep his magical heritage a secret in order to stay alive. When his secret is threatened, he’s forced to leave home and embark on a terrifying quest, which lands him in the middle of an unimaginably complex royal conspiracy.

BOOM! Studios has provided CBR with an exclusive preview of Wynd #1 ahead of its release on June 17. You can read the pages below, alongside the comic’s solicitation information.
