REPORT: Disney Developing Tarzan Live-Action Movie | CBR

So far, Disney shows no signs of slowing down with live-action remakes of its animated movies, and it looks like Tarzan could be next on the block.

DanielRPK made an initial report on his Patreon that a live-action Tarzan film was in development. The news followed recent reports of a live-action Hercules film in development, with Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame) attached as executive producers.

The animated version of Tarzan was released in 1999 and is regarded as the capstone of the “Disney Renaissance” era. The film follows Tarzan (Tony Goldwyn) as he feels torn between his life as a human and living with his adoptive tribe of gorillas. Matters are only further complicated by the arrival of Jane Porter (Minnie Driver), a fellow human who Tarzan starts to develop feelings for. Trapped between two worlds, Tarzan must decide where his heart truly lies.

There is currently no word on the potential cast and crew for Tarzan.

Disney’s next live-action film is Mulanstarring Yifei Liu as the titular warrior and directed by Niki Caro. It will premiere in theaters on July 24th.
