Rise of Skywalker Prop Designer Shares Unused Resistance Spy Device

Concept art from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker reveals a Resistance spy device that didn’t make it into the film.

Shared by prop designer Matthew Savage on Instagram, the device in question was meant to be a space-faring capsule that would have been used by the Resistance to share information. Savage explained, “Resistance Dead Drop Box from Rise of Skywalker: designed for a scene that wasn’t shot, this capsule would be left floating in space as a way to pass information between Resistance spies. This evolved into the scene with Boolio passing on the information to Fin [sic] and Poe.
