The fan-favorite character debuted the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, voiced by Ashley Eckstein, and in the follow-up animated series Star Wars Rebels. Dawson’s portrayal would mark the character’s live-action debut, and she may not be limited to The Mandalorian.
A new report from The Direct claims Dawson’s contract with Lucasfilm to portray the character extends beyond The Mandalorian for additional appearances on other Star Wars television series. While this is not official confirmation that future live-action appearances for the character are in active development, if true, it indicates that Lucasfilm is interested in going all in on the iconic Jedi Knight.
With planned Disney+ series centered on Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi both currently in pre-production, Dawson could potentially appear on either miniseries, especially as the Rogue One prequel is presumably set approximately eight years before the start of The Mandalorian. Another possibility is that Ahsoka Tano herself may be receiving her own live-action Disney+ spinoff series, revealing what the character has been up to in that galaxy far, far away after her appearance in Star Wars Rebels.
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito and Emily Swallow. Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+, with Season 2 slated to arrive in October
A new report claims Rosario Dawson's contract to portray Ahsoka Tano extends beyond Disney+'s Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
