Cindy Moon, A.K.A. Silk, is returning to comic shops in March 2021, when she’ll be starring in a new volume of her solo series by Maurene Goo and Takeshi Miyazawa.
The series was originally slated for released in July 2020. However, due to the consequences of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we can now look forward to Silk‘s solo series in the spring of 2021!
Silk first appeared in a cameo in a 2-page story included in Amazing Spider-Man #1 (2014) by Dan Slott, Humberto Ramos, Victor Olazaba, and Edgar Delgado. In this brief flashback to the fateful moment in Amazing Fantasy #15 when Peter Parker was bitten by the radioactive spider, the reader learns that another individual also received a bite from the irradiated arachnid!
In the second issue of the series, from the same creative team, the reader gets additional glimpses of Moon, who has been confined in a windowless room. And in issue four, Parker finally meets up with Moon. However, because Moon has been released from captivity, Morlun becomes aware of her existence, setting the events of Spider-Verse into motion (a story you may have heard of).
Devoted web-heads can expect to see other familiar faces in the upcoming Silk solo book: for one thing, by day, Moon is working for a new media upstart, Threats & Menaces, where she answers to none other than the inter-dimensionally famous J. Jonah Jameson. By night, she’s carrying on the proud tradition of heroic spider-totem-ing as Silk, the web-slinging vigilante.
However, the investigation Moon is conducting into a series of gangland murders soon threatens to make these two worlds collide. And what’s the deal with the new player in New York, who seems to be in league with a feline demon?

SILK MAKES HER GRAND RETURN THIS MARCH!
Demons and deadly conspiracies await Silk in new series by writer Maurene Goo and artist Takeshi Miyazawa
New York, NY— December 16, 2020 — Silk’s newest solo series, written by acclaimed novelist Maurene Goo (I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Somewhere Only We Know) and drawn by superstar artist Takeshi Miyazawa, will make its long-awaited debut this March! Back in 2014, Silk took the comic book world by storm when readers learned that Peter Parker wasn’t the only one who was bitten by the radioactive spider in Amazing Fantasy #15. Equipped with unique spider powers of her own, Silk quickly proved to be one of Marvel’s most fascinating new heroes and will now embark on thrilling new adventures packed with action, drama, and surprising new threats.
By day, Cindy Moon works as an intrepid reporter for the upstart new media empire, Threats & Menaces, under her old boss, J. Jonah Jameson. By night, she’s Silk, crime fighting super hero! But those worlds are about to collide as an investigation into a series of gangland murders puts Silk and everyone she loves in danger. Who is this powerful new player in New York’s underworld, where did she come from, and what is she doing with that strange cat demon? It will take all of Cindy’s prowess as reporter and hero to find the answers…and stay alive!
“The opportunity to write a Korean-American super hero—a woman, no less—is one that I never thought would come my way,” Goo said when the book was announced earlier this year. “I’m so excited to flex this writing muscle and to explore new stories for Silk—a character I love. Her fierceness and loyalty are qualities I understand and relate to, and I hope readers feel the same as she fights new foes and protects old friends.”
