Steve Austin Responds to Fan's Mask Criticism: 'Shut Up, Dude'

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic still raging on, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin clapped back at a fan for criticizing him over wearing a face mask. The exchange began with a photo that Austin, who has been laying low since injuring himself during an episode of RAW, posted on Instagram.

In the image, the semi-retired WWE wrestler is wearing a University of Alabama face mask. “Running errands on the Mean Streets of LA,” he wrote. “A friend of mine made me this custom University of Alabama mask. The mask is cool but she made it a little too small. So it cuts off the circulation to my ears. My ears are actually crimson. Since she is a Clemson University fan, I figured she ribbed me on purpose.”

Upon posting the photo, a fan decided to let Austin know how he felt about the mask. The fan commented, “The mask goes against your reputation! Stay strong, be a rebel, and do not conform! Cool mask, but strip off the communism!”

Austin replied, “Shut up, dude.” Despite Austin’s somewhat abrasive response, the commenter answered, “Still a fan, dude.”
