With quarantines still in effect in various countries across the globe, meetings, classes and even casual hangouts are being held through virtual means such as Zoom. In order to make those meetings slightly less dull, Amazon has released a number of different backgrounds for fans of its hit comic book adaptation, The Boys.
The backgrounds were posted on social media and showcase a wide variety of settings and characters. These include Starlight and Queen Maeve at the Seven’s headquarters, Billy Butcher and Marvin at one of their hideouts, and many, many more. In keeping with the grit and tone of the series, the images were released with the caption, “Zoom meetings are the fuckin’ worst, eh? Here are some free backgrounds featuring your favorite assholes to make them slightly better.”
The Boys adapts the graphic novel series of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by artist and co-creator Darick Robertson. The show centers on Billy Butcher, Hugh Campbell and Starlight as the vigilantes attempt to end the corruption of the superhero team known as The Seven. Upon release, the show quickly became Amazon Prime’s most successful series.
Season 2 of The Boys is currently scheduled for release this year, though a more specific date has not yet been provided.
Amazon Studios’ The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander and Simon Pegg as Hughie’s dad. A Season 2 premiere date has not yet been announced.
