To help alleviate boredom during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, VIZ Media will be offering free manga chapters every Friday starting this week. The first title to receive this treatment will be the highly popular My Hero Academia.

Other manga from the Shonen Jump digital vault will be available in the coming weeks. Each arc that is released will be free to read for a week.

The selections from My Hero Academia will be the Provisional License Exam and Overhaul arcs, which consist of chapters 100-147 of the manga. The Provisional License Exam saw the class of 1-A training in order to gain their hero licenses while dealing with the fallout of All Might’s retirement. The Overhaul arc features students entering into hero work studies, while Izuku “Deku” Midoriya helps saves a young girl from the Yakuza group known as the Shie Hassaikai.

Both the Provisional License Exam and Overhaul arcs, in addition to receiving acclaim from fans, have served as the basis for seasons three and four of the anime based on the manga.

Chapters 100-147 of My Hero Academia will be available to read for free starting this Friday.
