Walking Dead: The World Beyond Trailer Features Rick Grimes | CBR

While The Walking Dead Season 10 has been on an extended hiatus, a new trailer for the upcoming spinoff series The Walking Dead: The World Beyond connects the two shows, as well as Fear the Walking Dead.

The ominous teaser opens with Rick Grimes’ abduction by a mysterious ensemble known simply as CRM early in Season 9. The action then shifts to Fear the Walking Dead, with Al seen confronting someone wearing the same symbol as those that kidnapped Rick. Finally, the trailer ends with a brief glimpse at The World Beyond, uniting the three series in the shadowy organization’s symbol.

The World Beyond was slated to premiere on AMC in April but has since been pushed back to an unspecified date. While no cause for the delay has been announced, it’s presumed to be due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has similarly delayed The Walking Dead Season 10 finale that may set up the upcoming miniseries.

The World Beyond follows the first generation of children to grow up after the undead uprising and the collapse of modern civilization. With the three series all linked by CRM, the trailer confirms that those wearing the organization’s symbol are “bad people” indeed.

Created by Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman and Matt Negrete, The Walking Dead: World Beyond stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Nico Tortorella. The series debuts on AMC sometime in 2020.

A new trailer for AMC's The Walking Dead: The World Beyond connects it to the main series and Fear the Walking Dead — and includes Rick Grimes.
